HOMEWOOD, Ill. — A 51-year-old woman, identified by authorities as Bianca C. Davis, was found fatally shot inside a south suburban Homewood residence on Saturday afternoon, prompting a homicide investigation and a strong response from local law enforcement.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office and Homewood police, officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of 175th Street shortly before 1:45 p.m. after reports of an unresponsive female inside the residence.
